Tax Collector’s Office Brings Art to the Gardens

West Palm Beach, Fla. – Palm Beach County Tax Collector Anne M. Gannon is once again adding a touch of art to one of her service centers. Like she has done in the past at the other tax collector’s offices, Gannon has been anxious to unveil the new outdoor mural, titled “Piece by Piece”, at the new North County Service Center.
“You may not expect a visit to the tax collector’s office to include an opportunity to enjoy artwork,” said Gannon. “But we are changing that with the opening of our new service centers that feature various art displays as part of our commitment to provide art in public places.”
Displayed on the south side of the North County Service Center building, located at 3185 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, the mural was skillfully crafted by Boca Raton artist, Benjamin Heller, who has created several murals throughout South Florida. “The use of this imagery and various colors reflect both the ‘Gardens’ and positively interact with the existing landscaping at that location, both under natural sunlight and artificial lighting at night,” said Heller. Using a boom lift, many colors of paint, an impressive vision and tremendous stamina to withstand the Florida heat, it took Heller approximately three weeks to complete his masterpiece. “The outdoor mural is not the only art feature clients can enjoy when visiting our North County Service Center,” said Gannon. “Our lobby features a fountain created from volcanic basalt formed millions of years ago in the northwestern part of the United States. We also feature colorful banners created by participants of Gulfstream Goodwill’s Re-Imagined initiative.”
