Arriving in West Palm Beach from Rome, GA for the land boom in the 1920s, Attorney Joseph “Joe” Lesser decided to open his own law firm after the boom turned into a bust.  93 years later, the Firm he founded is still going strong with his grandson, Managing Partner Gary S. Lesser at the helm.

“My grandfather believed it was important to help people and be involved in your community,” said Managing Partner Gary S. Lesser.  “He worked hard to help those with legal needs from his small one-room office in the Citizens Building on Narcissus Ave in West Palm Beach.  He was also a strong believer in supporting his community by serving as one of the founders and President of Temple Beth El, founder, and President of the first B’nai B’rith in Palm Beach County. He was an active volunteer with the Lion’s Club. He served as regional President, as well as serving as General Counsel for the local Salvation Army.”

More than nine decades later, Lesser Lesser Landy & Smith (LLLS) still supports those values by effectively and aggressively representing clients injured as a result of someone else’s negligence.  Following Joe’s example, the Firm’s attorneys handle clients’ cases from beginning to end, not using a paralegal like so many larger firms.  LLLS has grown to twelve attorneys in four offices throughout South Florida and has helped thousands of families recover significant verdicts and settlements.

As LLLS celebrates its 93rd Anniversary, they are also renewing a commitment to their community.  In the past 12 months, they have contributed more than $300,000 in sponsorships and donation to support vital charities and business missions in South Florida, including health, education, special needs, homelessness, child welfare, veterans, economic development, humanitarian/human rights, legal aid organizations, and other causes.  Earlier this year, the Firm served as the Presenting Sponsor for the Alpert Jewish Family’s No Excuse For Abuse Luncheon, an organization that helps men, women, and children escape the cycle of abuse.

The Firm practice focuses on serious personal injury and wrongful death cases, growing the practice from referrals instead of advertising.  “I think it says a lot when all of your work comes from previous clients, other attorneys, and people who know us in the community.  It’s about helping our clients and getting the best results for them,” said Managing Partner Gary S. Lesser.
