What I see: In this picture, provided by Samantha, my trusted home remodeling representative, you can see an extension cord hardwired (permanently installed) into drywall by the last company/person who built or remodeled this home. Extension cords are temporary connections used to power up certain loads (appliances, computers, lamps, or any other temporary removable loads) but should never be used as permanent connections, especially when inaccessible, like behind drywall.
What can happen: An appliance (load) connected to it could overload the wire, causing it to overheat and potentially catch fire. Since the wire (extension cord) most likely has a lower capacity (to handle current) than the breaker it's connected to, the breaker will probably not trigger.
What to do: Ensure that your electrical installations are performed by a licensed electrician.
