Ushering in the final production this season, this revival of a classic Broadway show will have the local Theatre guests tapping along.

March 4, 2024 (Jupiter, Fla.) — To close out the wildly popular, and nearly completely sold-out 2023/2024 season, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre has set the stage for a smash-hit Broadway adaptation of 42nd Street, from March 12 through 31. Audiences are invited to be transported back to the glitz and glamour of 1930s Broadway in a spectacular revival of this beloved musical. A timeless production,

42nd Street boasts an upbeat lineup of iconic songs including "Lullaby of Broadway" and "We're in the Money," promising to captivate theatre-goers with its dazzling choreography and heartwarming story of dreams coming true.

Originally opening on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre on August 25, 1980, 42nd Street quickly became a sensation, and garnered two Tony Awards® in 1981 for Best Musical and Best Choreography. The production's success led to runs at the Majestic and St. James Theatres, ultimately achieving a remarkable 3,486 performances. In 2001, the first Broadway revival of 42nd Street delighted audiences at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, earning critical acclaim and running for 1,524 performances.

“The Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s production of 42nd Street is a celebration of Broadway's rich history and enduring legacy,” said Andrew Kato, Producing Artistic Director/Chief Executive of the Theatre. “With its unforgettable tunes and timeless story, 42nd Street continues to resonate with audiences around the world, and we are thrilled to bring this classic musical to life on our stage to close out our record breaking 20th Anniversary Season.”

Set against the backdrop of bustling New York City, 42nd Street follows the journey of Peggy Sawyer, a talented young dancer from Allentown, Pennsylvania, who dreams of making it big on Broadway. When Peggy catches the eye of legendary director Julian Marsh, she is thrust into the spotlight as a chorus girl in the new Broadway musical "Pretty Lady." However, when the show's leading lady is injured, Peggy's star begins to rise as she steps into the role of a lifetime.
