“Shining Stars” Honored During NPB Chamber’s

2010 Leadership Awards Dinner

Jupiter, Florida (06/29/10) – More than 200 members of the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce gathered at Admiral’s Cove in Jupiter on Thursday, June 17 for the nonprofit’s shining star-themed Leadership Awards Dinner. Guests were greeted by a five-piece Jazz band before sitting down to a three-course meal courtesy of the exclusive country club. During the prestigious event, the Chamber recognized four local entrepreneurs and philanthropists for their outstanding achievements.

Education icon, Dr. Edward Eissey, who served four terms as the mayor of North Palm Beach and about 20 years as president of Palm Beach State College received the Chairman's Award of Excellence. Donald Kiselewski, Jr., Area Manager for Florida Power & Light, received the Community Leader of the Year award for his tireless contributions to North Palm Beach County, including his work as the Chair of the Business Development Board and Secretary of the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches. Volunteer of the Year went to Morris "Skip" Miller of Ruden McClosky for his work as past and current Chairman for the Palm Beach County Housing Leadership Council, Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach Gardens and ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival Hospitality Committee.

The Chamber selected FASTFRAME for the coveted Small Business of the Year award – no small feat considering 85 percent of the Chamber’s members are comprised of small businesses. The company stood out for its exemplary customer service approach - in an industry where the common turn-around time is two weeks, FASTFRAME prides itself on delivering the highest quality custom framing in just one hour. FASTFRAME also provides local children with a free outlet to showcase their art through its Student of the Month program and regularly donates mat scraps to The Resource Depot, a non-profit organization that provides school teachers with much-needed art supplies. The Board of Directors also recognized the Honda Classic, the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Town of Jupiter, Palm Beach County and Palm Beach State College for outstanding achievement. The event was sponsored by Roger Dean Stadium.
