South Florida Science Center and Aquarium

WHO: South Florida Science Center and Aquarium presents the fall blockbuster exhibit, Real Bodies: The Exhibition.
 
WHAT: Appropriate for all ages, Real Bodies goes beyond skin deep to reveal the mysteries of human anatomy, exploring the body through physiology, culture and emotion. Visitors will tour real, preserved human bodies, digging deeper into what it means to be alive.
 
Real Bodies takes visitors on a journey, asking them to explore who they are, where they come from and what they choose to do with the life and body they have.
 
The bodies have been preserved using a process known as polymer impregnation, a relatively new method of preservation whereby bodily fluids are replaced by liquid plastic, which is then hardened to create a solid, durable anatomic specimen that will last indefinitely.  Most impressively, the process leaves even the finest, most delicate tissue structure virtually intact, down to the microscopic sphere, making the process invaluable for medical study.
 
The exhibition pushes boundaries while blending art, science and emotion. When visitors explore different symptoms of the body, they will see the deeper connection between breathing, hunger, heart rhythm, love, motion and thought that makes each person unique.
 
The exhibit will also feature a COVID-19 component, encouraging visitors to learn more about the pandemic’s impact on the human body.

WHEN:  Real Bodies opens September 28, 2020 and runs through April 11, 2021.
 
WHY: “We are thrilled to bring ‘Real Bodies’ to Palm Beach County,” said Kate Arrizza, Science Center President and CEO. “We know our guests will love seeing the science beneath the skin and learning about human evolution through time. This is a rare opportunity to see the human body from the inside, which we hope will spark an interest in children to seek careers in science and medicine. The exhibit is timely with the COVID-19 pandemic, so we are excited to have this platform for learning.”
 
HOW MUCH: Admission to the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium during Real Bodies is $17.95 for adults, $13.95 for children ages 3 to 12 and $15.95 for seniors aged 60 and older.  Science Center members and children under 3 are free.

We will be asking you to watch 2 videos prior to the discussion, so you are well prepared for the session. The videos are no longer than 10-11 minutes long.

The City of Riviera Beach and the Riviera Beach CRA proudly brings you the Holiday Drive Thru. Holiday Tree and Lights will be lit every night from dusk till 9pm from Dec 5-Jan 1. The virtual tree lighting will take place on TV18 throughout the season.

A premier event of the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County (MIAPBC) and gift to the community, the 2020 Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade kicks off the holiday season on Saturday, December 5th, 2020!

What: 26th Annual Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade and 20th Annual Toy Drive benefiting Toys for Tots and Little Smiles.

Where: The parade, led by a Zambelli traveling fireworks display navigates up the Intracoastal Waterway from North Palm Beach to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse.

When: Saturday, December 5, 2020. Parade begins at 6 p.m. and arrives in Jupiter at approximately 8 p.m.

Join us for a relaxed after-hours informational session with other business owners and professionals who desire to grow their business within the Palm Beach North community. Our Membership Development team will be providing detailed information on how the Chamber represents the region's business community as well as the various ways to get involved as a member.

The Ambassador Committee is a diverse group of business professionals and valued Chamber members. The Ambassador Committee is critical to enabling the Chamber to welcoming and orienting our valued new members.

As an extension of our Chamber team, our Ambassador Committee enhances the overall value of Chamber membership. On an ongoing basis, the Committee connects with new and existing members, helping them to best target their networking and business development efforts.

New members must meet certain longevity requirements to serve as an ambassador. However, new and current members, are welcome to join for a meeting or two before deciding to join. 

Eligibility

Must be a Chamber member for at least 90 days & have attended both Business Before Hours and Business After Hours. Meet with Chair and Liaison, sign Participant Commitment Form and attend at least 9 meetings per fiscal year. Guests are welcome.

13th Annual Rooney's 5k is a fun family event for the serious and not so serious runner.  The race will be held on the roads of Historical Westgate CRA in West Palm Beach.  Registration Start Line and Finish Line are located at the Palm Beach Kennel Club.  Each participant will receive a medal and t-shirt.

The benefiting charities this year are: Historical Society of Palm Beach County, Awesome Greyhound Adoptions, Westgate CRA/Belvedere Homes, Potentia Academy  and Palm Beach County PAL. We hope you will join us!
