Aug 16 Unintended Consequences of Tax Reform and an Insider's View of Change

Unintended Consequences of Tax Reform and an Insider's View of Change featuring Congressman Brian Mast and Stephen Ritmiller, CPA, Carr Riggs and Ingram.

The Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Advisory Council presents it's quarterly Small Business Seminar on Thursday, August 16 at the FAU Jupiter campus in the AD119 Auditorium.  Refreshments will be sponsored by Carr Riggs and Ingram.

Congressman Brian Mast
Congressman Brian Mast is in his first term representing the 18th Congressional District of Florida.
Prior to his election to Congress, Brian followed in his father?s footsteps by serving in the U.S. Army for more than 12 years, earning medals including The Bronze Star Medal, The Army Commendation Medal for Valor, The Purple Heart Medal, and The Defense Meritorious Service Medal. While deployed in Afghanistan, he worked as a bomb disposal expert under the elite Joint Special Operations Command. The last improvised explosive device that he found resulted in catastrophic injuries, which included the loss of both of his legs.

While lying in bed recovering at Walter Reed Medical Center, Brian?s father gave him advice that has stuck with him to this day--to ensure the greatest service he gave to our country and the best example he set for his children was still ahead of him. Brian took this advice to heart and dedicated himself to finding new ways to serve our country and his community.

Brian remained on active duty following the injuries and provided expertise to the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms during his recovery process. After his retirement from the Army, he continued working in counter-terrorism and national defense as an Explosive Specialist with the Department of Homeland Security. Brian subsequently received a degree from the Harvard Extension School and volunteered to serve alongside the Israel Defense Forces to show support for the freedom Israel represents throughout the Middle East and the world.

In Congress, Brian strives to serve as he did on the battlefield: without regard for personal gain or personal sacrifice. He is a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where his priorities include fixing the pressing water quality issues stemming from Lake Okeechobee, and the Foreign Affairs Committee, where he uses his military expertise to help strengthen the safety and security of the United States.

Brian lives in Palm City, Fla. with his wife Brianna and three children, Magnum, Maverick and Madalyn.

Aug 29 2018 Women in Business Annual Tea
Please join the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Council for their Annual Tea with historian, economist and author, John Browne. Flaunt your best tea dress and hat as we enjoy tea, light bites and desserts. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative hats and fascinators!

A former Conservative Member of Parliament, John Browne was a Vice President of the UK Independence Party that triggered and won Brexit. He retired as a Major in the Grenadier Guards, having served as a pilot and a parachutist. On public duties, he had responsibility for the pallbearers at the State Funeral of Sir Winston Churchill. He has a Master of Science from Cranfield Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard.  He is interviewed regularly on TV about political, economic and financial matters.

After graduation from Harvard, John spent time as a somewhat unskilled cowboy on a working ranch in Wyoming. Subsequently, he joined Morgan Stanley as an investment banker in New York. In London, with European Banking Company, he became Director of Middle East Operations.

In Parliament, he was made the Personal Liaison to Mr. Gorbachev on his first official visit to the West. He predicted Gorbachev would become Soviet Leader. Briefed by John, Margaret Thatcher made her seminal statement: ?I think I can do business with this man.?

John has lectured in many parts of the world, including: at the Kremlin, in Hong Kong, South Korea and in Switzerland. He predicted both the Brexit vote and, in July 2015, the Trump Presidency.

John currently is a Partner of Frazier, Browne and Mayer LLC (an independent economic and financial research company), a Realtor at Illustrated Properties (specializing in luxury properties) and author of "Hidden Account of the Romanovs."

As far as Royal knowledge is concerned, he attended the Constitutional Committee and played polo in the Windsor Park team with Prince Philip and Prince Charles.

I understand he danced on occasion, with The Queen.
