Jun 2 - Jul 14 JR. ANGLER FISHING TOURNAMENT
The Loxahatchee River District’s River Center, in partnership with Fishing Headquarters, is delighted to announce the 5th Annual Jr. Angler Fishing Tournament. Due to its high popularity last year with over 50 anglers, participation for this year’s tournament is expected to grow. Interested anglers should mark their calendars and set their reels for Saturday, June 2nd when the contest officially opens. Registration is open May 11th and throughout the entire tournament. The tournament is open to anyone between the ages of 5 and 17, but registration is required before submitted photographs can be awarded points. A registration fee of $25 per angler includes a t-shirt and an invitation to the “End of Summer” Fish Fry where the winners will be announced and prizes awarded on Friday, July 20th at 6:00 PM.

Jun 2 Hike through History
Join our staff on a 2 mile trek through the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area discovering a history shaped by nature. Program is open to adults and children-minimum age 5, ages 13 & under must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 18 years old. Hiker’s footwear, active wear, a hat, and a full water bottle or canteen should be carried, tour is weather dependent. Hike meets at the Museum’s flag pole. Jun 2 Summer Camp Open House
Want to see a typical day at JMB Summer Camp? Join us for our 2018 Summer Camp Open House on Saturday, June 2! From 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., we are welcoming children ages 6 – 17 to campus to experience what life is like as a LMC camper, and parents to meet our awesome counselors. Learn about our Junior Marine Biologist camp program and participate in activities featured throughout all three themed camp sessions. We are looking for Breast Cancer Survivors to join Team SOS PBC (Save Our Sisters Palm Beach County) Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Team. Palm Beach County’s First and Only Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Team.

Our Mission: To promote a healthy, active lifestyle and provide organized opportunities for physical fitness, wellness education, and psycho-social empowerment among Breast Cancer Survivors and their supporters through the sport of dragon boating.

Team SOS PBC members are from all walks of life and range in age from 30s to 70s with varied interests and fitness levels. Each of us is a powerful example that women can lead a full and vigorous life after treatment for breast cancer. SOS PBC offers an active, health-giving, life affirming opportunity for breast cancer survivors. We are a survivor group whose focus is on living, rather than on the disease that brought us together.

Business Savvy Women is a Forum where professional business women come together in a constructively challenging setting to discuss a range of issues that arise in their business and professional environment. 
 
The objective of the Forum is to empower professional business women to develop and execute solutions to overcome the challenges they face in their business or professional environment. In practical terms, women will be able to draw from the wealth of knowledge in the room to develop and execute innovative solutions to successful resolve their challenges. 
 
Each Forum is presented by the Women in Business Council of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce will be facilitated by Cheryl Gowdie, Business Coach.  This will be in accordance with a set of protocols designed to create a thought-provoking, confidential and non-judgmental environment.
 
The Forum is targeted for professional business women who have acquired a level of experience and expertise that will add value to the group.

Cheryl Gowdie is Founder and CEO of ACCEZY, an international business coaching and consulting practice.  She works with senior professionals and business owners to develop and implement strategies to successfully achieve their professional and business goals. Travis Thomas is the Founder of Live,Yes And (www.liveyesand.com), sharing his interactive and inspiring message of purpose, authenticity, and collaboration to audiences and companies across the US. 
 

For nearly 20 years, Travis has performed as an improvisational comedian and corporate training specialist. His coaching practice combines the principles of improvisation and personal performance to help individuals and organizations live with more purpose and authenticity. 
 

Travis recently served as a Leadership Specialist at IMG Academy in Florida working with elite athletes from around the world, such as the United States U17 National Soccer Team and the NFL and NBA Combine prospects. Travis' corporate resume includes PepsiCo, Under Armor, Gatorade, Cintas, the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, and UGA Football.

Help us keep the very beach that our turtles call home free from trash and litter. Join Lynne Wells and her group of Blue Friends Society members this month on Saturday, June 9 at 8:30 a.m. on the back deck of LMC. Bring a bucket to collect the trash and garden gloves if you have them. Following 1-hour of cleaning the beach, join us for a light breakfast sponsored by Whole Foods Market in Palm Beach Gardens and Another Broken Egg in Harborside, Jupiter. Calling all runners! Enjoy running along scenic A1A at the 7th Annual Run 4 the Sea and support Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission of sea turtle and ocean conservation! The event features a fun one-mile run for children and a four-mile run for adults, as well as a post-race celebration with music and breakfast. The 4-mile race starts at 7:00 a.m. Cost: $40; then $45 after June 2 (includes a sport style participant t-shirt and custom finisher medal). The River Center continues to collaborate with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” to provide a series of Boating Safely Classes targeted specifically to young boaters in our community. These classes are provided through a generous sponsorship by the AustinBlu Foundation, a not-for-profit dedicated to raising awareness and promoting educational programs to improve boater safety. There is no cost for this class, however there is a deposit required to reserve a seat. The deposit of $10 will be refunded in full to all students who complete the class. Recommended for children 12 years and up.

Our Mission: To promote a healthy, active lifestyle and provide organized opportunities for physical fitness, wellness education, and psycho-social empowerment among Breast Cancer Survivors and their supporters through the sport of dragon boating.

Team SOS PBC members are from all walks of life and range in age from 30s to 70s with varied interests and fitness levels. Each of us is a powerful example that women can lead a full and vigorous life after treatment for breast cancer. SOS PBC offers an active, health-giving, life affirming opportunity for breast cancer survivors. We are a survivor group whose focus is on living, rather than on the disease that brought us together.
