Shifting to Omnicom’s PHD Media, Joey expanded marketing initiatives for Hyatt Hotels, as well as GlaxoSmithKline’s CPG products. More recently, he supervised marketing campaigns for AMC Network’s hit shows, helping grow The Walking Dead into the largest cable drama in television history.

He holds a BAS degree in marketing from Fairfield University, and lives in Delray Beach with his wife. Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling, craft beer, and running.

Apr 14 Wild & Scenic Film Festival
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is one of the nation’s premiere environmental and adventure film festivals in North America being hosted in our own backyard. These international short films are a call to action! Soul-stirring stories and grand sweeping vistas give us a sense of place and what it means to be responsible stewards of the earth. They illustrate not only the challenges facing our planet but the work communities are doing to protect the environment and the places we love. They also portray the magnetic draw of nature and the adventurous side of the human spirit. We will once again be joined by local community organizations who will share with you how you can get involved in loving and caring for our earth. Films will be shown at the waterfront Lighthouse on the “big screen.” Food, sodas, beer & wine will be available for purchase. Live musical performance. All proceeds support the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. Bring beach or lawn chairs. Outside food & drinks and pets not permitted. Tickets are $10 per person, purchase online beginning March Mar 12, 2018. Due to the limited availability of tickets, we recommend early ticket purchase, tickets are non-refundable. www.jupiterlighthouse.org Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum, 500 Captain Armour’s Way, Jupiter.#WSFFJupiter @JupiterLH #jupiterlighthouse

Apr 16 Secrets of the Sargasso Sea
This lecture will share a number of “secrets” about this mysterious oceanic realm, some of which date back to the historic voyage of Christopher Columbus. The lecturer, Brian Lapointe, Ph.D., will describe the discovery of Sargassum by early explorers, the phenomenon of the “Bermuda Triangle” and the amazing community of invertebrates and fishes supported by Sargassum “weedlines.” Professor Lapointe will show outtakes of a documentary of the Sargassum community that he and NHK Broadcasting (Tokyo, Japan) collaborated on in 1997. He will close by describing his recent studies of the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on the “essential fish habitat” provided by pelagic Sargassum.

Apr 23 Telepresence and Robotics: New Paradigms for Ocean Exploration
More than 95% of the ocean remains unexplored and ocean exploration and undersea research are changing. There is an emphasis on more autonomous sampling and data collection and fewer opportunities for field-based experiences. Telepresence and robotics now complement “manned” ocean exploration and enable hundreds of shore-based scientists to participate in real-time. Around the world, millions of viewers can watch online as expeditions unfold in real time. This lecture will introduce the technology for telepresence-enabled ocean exploration.
