1,000 EMPTY BOWLS at Lighthouse ArtCenter
September 1 ? February 13: Wednesdays 6-9 pm and Saturdays 1-4 pm. The public is invited to come out to Lighthouse ArtCenter and help make ceramic bowls for the Palm Beach County Food Bank ?Empty Bowls? campaign. Take a turn on the pottery wheel or maybe make a ?pinch-pot,? every bowl helps to feed the hungry. ArtCenter staff will assist in forming each work of art. The bowls will be decorated by artists before the February 13 and 14 bowl sale to raise funds for the food bank. Reservations required, call 561.746.3101. Evening Guided Tours
Light refreshments will be provided as guests are guided through our exhibit hall and turtle yard to learn about LMC?s conservation efforts and the local species that call South Florida's coast home. During the second half of the tour, guests will experience a ?meet and greet? in the turtle yard with our sea turtle patients. $10/adult, $5/children. Maximum capacity is 20 people.

Hammock Hikes
Every Friday at 10:30 a.m. beginning October 24, guests will be guided by an experienced naturalist through some of South Florida?s beautiful habitat. Guests will see coastal hammock and natural dune systems, as well as learn about the plants and animals that call this unique environment home.

BEST OF THE CLUBS EXHIBITION at Lighthouse ArtCenter

Hike Through History
Discover the topography and natural history of Jupiter?s National Conservation Lands historic site. This 2 mile trek passes through historic points of interest on the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area. The hike departs from the flag pole at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum and is weather dependent. Program is open to adults and children ?minimum age 5, ages 13 & under must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 18 years old. Midtown - Music On the Plaza
Music On the Plaza is back! On Thursday, January 8, Midtown begins its popular free music series, Music On The Plaza, running each Thursday from 6:00–8:00pm. The outdoor concerts run for 12 weeks, providing audiences with new, exciting, and carefully selected local, regional, and national talent.
Kicking off the 2015 season is South Florida piano-pop act, The Jacob Jeffries Band. Jacob is one of the area’s award-winning favorite original artists with the ability to write and perform feel-good music -- think The Beatles, Ben Folds, and Tom Petty. Other acts in January include The Matt Farr Band playing soulful rock, The Screaming J’s from NC playing boogie boogie piano and Ancient Sun from Orlando playing trippy eclectic groove rock.
Attendees are encouraged to enjoy food and beverages from Midtown restaurants Christopher’s Kitchen, Chipotle, J. Alexanders, Saito's and Cantina Laredo. Christopher’s Kitchen will offer discounts on beer and wine, other specials will be announced on the night.
The free concerts attract an all-ages crowd. "We have seen an increase in young families attending over the years. They bring their young children to listen and dance to the music before bedtime,” says Belle Forino, Marketing Manager of Midtown.
To celebrate the first show of the season, Midtown will have goody bags for children under the age of 5 and free face painting from 6:00-7:30pm. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and shoes for dancing. Parking is free. Midtown is located at 4801 PGA Blvd Palm Beach Gardens. Narratives Exhibition
A new exhibit that features artwork by eight Miami artists opens Jan. 13 at the Art Gallery at Eissey Campus at Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens. Titled ?Narratives,? the exhibit features paintings created by the Guild group. Its members are Abdiel Acosta, Christian Duran, Lu Gold, Jovan Karlo Villalba, Todd Eliott Mansa, Yamel Molerio, Vincent Serritella and Jose Telot. Duran and Molerio curated the exhibition.

Mr. Mastroianni has been recognized for his commitment to excellence in construction by the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC), and was awarded the prestigious Excellence in Construction Award in 1998. Mr. Mastroianni served as Executive Vice President of the Rhode Island Chapter of the ABC and has been a member of the Association of General Contractors. He is active in charitable organizations and formed Charities for Children with Cancer (CCC), to which he personally donated. Music On the Plaza is back! On Thursday, January 8, Midtown begins its popular free music series, Music On The Plaza, running each Thursday from 6:00–8:00pm. The outdoor concerts run for 12 weeks, providing audiences with new, exciting, and carefully selected local, regional, and national talent.
Kicking off the 2015 season is South Florida piano-pop act, The Jacob Jeffries Band. Jacob is one of the area’s award-winning favorite original artists with the ability to write and perform feel-good music -- think The Beatles, Ben Folds, and Tom Petty. Other acts in January include The Matt Farr Band playing soulful rock, The Screaming J’s from NC playing boogie boogie piano and Ancient Sun from Orlando playing trippy eclectic groove rock.
Attendees are encouraged to enjoy food and beverages from Midtown restaurants Christopher’s Kitchen, Chipotle, J. Alexanders, Saito's and Cantina Laredo. Christopher’s Kitchen will offer discounts on beer and wine, other specials will be announced on the night.
The free concerts attract an all-ages crowd. "We have seen an increase in young families attending over the years. They bring their young children to listen and dance to the music before bedtime,” says Belle Forino, Marketing Manager of Midtown.
To celebrate the first show of the season, Midtown will have goody bags for children under the age of 5 and free face painting from 6:00-7:30pm. The Kretzer Kids are a group of middle and high school music students that perform for nursing homes, assisted living facilities and prominent venues throughout Palm Beach and Martin County. Proceeds from this concert will go to Kretzer Piano Music Foundation to fund the ?Kretzer Kids? program. The Music for the Mind concerts are held on the third Tuesday of every month in the Harriet Himmel Theater at CityPlace. Each concert presents a different musical group from local area schools and community organizations. Since its inception in 2002, the Music for the Mind concert series has given over 9,600 young musicians the opportunity to perform and has raised over $450,000 to help promote music in our community.

What started as an event to benefit Captain Butch Smith, a Firefighter in his battle with cancer, has evolved into a fundraiser which benefits four local charities: Quantum House, Firefighter Cancer Support Network - Florida Chapter, and The Professional Firefighters and Paramedics Benevolent Fund, Inc.. The tournament takes place at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. and cards in the air at 1:00 p.m. In attendance this year is Jerry Yang, the 2007 Main Event Champion at the World Series of Poker. Hail Britannia
The 40-piece New Gardens Band will be joined by the 40-piece Orchid City Brass Band for ?Hail Britannia?, when the two Bands present a salute to the British Iles, with a full evening of classic favorites from the British Empire. Music by Gustav Holst, Kenneth Alfred, Malcom Arnold, and many others will be presented. The Orchid City Brass Band is comprised of the area?s finest brass players and is sure to thrill with their unique big brass sound. This a rare opportunity to hear both a brass band and full concert band on the stage at the same program. A cheerio jolly good concert indeed!
