Sep 4 2014 Women in Business Annual Tea
Please join the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Council for the Annual Tea.  Wear your dress and afternoon tea hat (not mandatory) to sip teas and snack on light bites and desserts. Women in Business Annual Tea will feature Ruth Hartman Berge, author of "Growing Up in Northern Palm Beach County: Boomer Memories from Dairy Belle to Double Roads."

About the author:
A history geek since childhood, Ruth Hartman Berge enjoyed listening to her parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles talk about the “good ol’ days” when Palm Beach County was mostly cow pastures, farm lands and pineapple fields. A member of Mensa, she is a former member of the board of directors of the Writers’ Network of South Florida and also was a columnist for Seabreeze Publications, Inc. where her column, The Florida You Don’t Know, enjoyed a wide and loyal readership. Currently, in addition to working on her first mystery novel, she writes a blog at ruththewriter.blogspot.com about whatever grabs her attention. Oftentimes, the topic is some little-known fact about her Palm Beach County surroundings.
Ruth was born in West Palm Beach and spent most of her life in Palm Beach County. Aside from forays to Tallahassee, where she graduated from Florida State University, Ruth’s home base has remained in the county she finds so fascinating. She has two wonderful children and is currently owned by three cats, one of whom is disabled and was the inspiration for her children’s book, Betty Tales: The True Story of a Brave Bobblehead Cat. A voracious reader, she enjoys writing in several different genres but finds herself drawn time and time again to stories that evoke the forgotten paradise of the Florida that existed in the past.

Sep 15 - Nov 17 Quarters for Quantum
Quarters for Quantum has kicked off once again! The canister campaign, sponsored by Panera Bread Company, is the largest community project at the House and depends solely on volunteers for its success. Businesses, schools, civic groups, and individuals register for canisters which they spend the next four months filling up with spare change and donations they raise themselves. The funds raised go towards providing families with lodging, care, and compassion while their child receives treatment locally. Quantum House is the only one of our kind between Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, which makes our mission even more critical. Register for yours at www.quantumhouse.org/q4q or donate to our digital canister at www.quantumhouse.org/digitalcanister. This fundraisers ends Monday, November 17 so sign up now!

Sep 23 Retirement Planning Workshop - Presented by Blatt Financial Group
RESERVATIONS REQUIRED - 561-625-0900 x-2

The Economy is Changing…
Be Sure Your Retirement is Protected
It only takes one or two mistakes
to lose your nest egg!

Planning for retirement today is much different than it was 5 or 10 years ago. The stock market rises and plummets in reaction to events a half a world away. We are living longer than ever, meaning your money needs to last longer. Record government deficits and record government spending will almost certainly lead to higher taxes and inflation.

Many retirement plans are simply no longer suitable for today’s volatile economic conditions. Whether you are planning for retirement or already retired, getting a “financial stress test” from an experienced, full service financial advisor may uncover opportunities that could put you in better financial position—no matter what the future holds.

Join local Financial Advisor, Peter Blatt as he discusses:
  1. How to increase your retirement income on a consistent basis.
  2. How to avoid losses during huge market corrections and recessions.
  3. Will your asset allocation allow you to grow as the market grows?
  4. Avoid probate. Probate is voluntary!
  5. Do you know when to get into the market or when to get out?
Don't facet the unknown without attending this informational dinner!!
(This is for first time attendees only.)
