4th Annual Art of Association Exhibition
For the fourth year, the ArtCenter hosts a collaborative show that includes juried work from different art associations from Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties. Lighthouse ArtCenter welcomes 13 art groups for ART OF ASSOCIATION exhibition
Collaboration and cooperation are key to the Lighthouse ArtCenter?s latest exhibition, Art of Association running June 9 ? August 14. Featuring juried works from 13 art associations throughout Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast, a special opening and awards ceremony will take place June 19 during the Lighthouse ArtCenter?s 3rd Thursday event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. "This is an exhibition in which art lovers and collectors can see, as well as purchase, the best work by members of art associations in our region. There are outstanding pieces of art ranging from representational and abstract paintings to photography to ceramic sculptures to fiber art,? said Executive Director Katie Deits. ?The openings, lectures and exhibition this summer also offer the participating artists an opportunity to network, share ideas and expand their horizons.? Celebrating its fourth year, Art of Association reveals the spirit of cooperation. The common goal of each organization sharing the experience of the visual arts promises visitors an exciting artistic experience that will have something for everyone. Additionally, visitors can purchase most of the art on display.

Southern Exposure: New Work Now
Highlighting 17 emerging and mid-career Palm Beach County artists, the Cultural Council and Unit1 have collaborated to bring rising talents together for the summer exhibition: Southern Exposure: New Work Now. This convergence of curatorial styles has produced an exemplary cross-section of the current art world?s process, thought, method and stance. This exhibition will include experimental painting techniques, photography, site-specific installations as well as performance art. New Work Now represents a merging of scenes, a melding of styles and a continuation of community-driven support.

Discover the topography and natural history of Jupiter?s National Conservation Lands historic site. This 2 mile trek passes through historic points of interest on the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area. The hike departs from the flag pole at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum and is weather dependent. Program is open to adults and children ?minimum age 5, ages 13 & under must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 18 years old. The Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce presents Brian LaBovick, the founder and managing shareholder of LaBovick Law Group (a civil trial law firm with several locations throughout South Florida).
Mr. LaBovick has been practicing law for more than 21 years, and he has earned several awards, including an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. The AV rating is the highest ranking an attorney can receive that reflects both professional ability and high ethical standards. Mr. LaBovick has also been named a Florida Super Lawyer for several consecutive years and has been listed as Florida Legal Elite.
Mr. LaBovick obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and he earned a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Miami School of Law in Florida. Receiving the distinguished honor of being invited into the Graduate Program at the United States Department of Justice, he began his legal career as a Federal Prosecutor in 1990.
In 1992, Mr. LaBovick established his Florida law firm in Coral Gables. Initially, the firm was a general practice firm and handled various types of cases, including civil, commercial, and criminal cases, securities litigation, bankruptcy, and dissolution of marriage. In 1993, LaBovick Law Group relocated to Palm Beach County and became exclusively a plaintiffs firm with an emphasis on civil trial.
Mr. LaBovick is a regular speaker for and sponsor of the Dori Slosberg Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to traffic safety. He speaks to local high school students on the dangers, realities and legal ramifications of distracted driving. Besides his family and firm, this is one of his greatest passions.
Brian LaBovick is dedicated to helping victims and protecting their rights within our legal system.

The Artists of Palm Beach County (APBC), a coalition of professional artists, all residents of Palm Beach County, and ActivistArtistA, is happy to announce the What's All the Buzz About Exhibit, which will be on display July 11 – August 11, 2014 in the Art on Park Gallery, 800 Park Avenue, in Lake Park FL. Everyone is invited to view and purchase the art. A percentage of the Proceeds from this exhibit are going to benefit the Palm Beach Beekeepers Association. This juried exhibit presents the work of accomplished Palm Beach County artists in a variety of mediums.

Music for the Mind Presents... Artists for a Cause "Students & Stars!"
In "Students and Stars," the most outstanding vocal student from the Artists for a Cause network in either the popular, classical, or musical theater is coached by a "Star" in their respective genre. The audience will hear the outstanding student, the star entertainer, and then the two will perform together. Come witness the stars of tomorrow as they are mentored by some of the best talent in our region. Avery Sommers starred on Broadway in AIN'T MISBEHAVIN replacing Nell Carter and SHOW BOAT as Queenie. She toured nationally playing Jewel in THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS with Ann-Margret and in CHICAGO as Matron Mama Morton with Chita Rivera and Joel Grey. Avery won the LA OVATION AWARD for her portrayal of Matron Mama Morton. Kevin Paul trains as an actor, singer, dancer, pianist, and guitarist, and was recently a finalist and scholarship winner in the "Catch a Rising Star" Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches. Cast as a lead role in countless musicals at Starstruck Theater in Stuart, he has recently been accepted into eight of the country?s most competitive musical theater degree programs. Kevin is also the President of the Artists for a Cause club at the Pine School, where he pioneered the ?Share Arts? program. The Music for the Mind Concert Series is held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7pm in the Harriet Himmel Theater in CityPlace. Each concert presents a different musical group from local area schools and community organizations. All ticket sales go to the performing organization. More than $360,000 for music education has been raised through the efforts of Kretzer Piano and the "Music for the Mind" series at CityPlace. These funds have been used by local schools and community organizations throughout the area to benefit music education. The concerts have featured over 9,200 young artists since the series began in 2002.

The Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Legislative Update breakfast presented by Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott.
State legislators representing Palm Beach County will provide some perspective on the recent legislative issues. Each attending Legislator will address the group on topics relevant to business while providing their year-in-review perspective. Potential topics include Talent, Innovation and Economic Development, Infrastructure, Business Climate, Governance and Quality of Life.

Inlet Village Quarterly Meeting
The July meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Jupiter Community Center. In order to provide information on several topics, and answer as many resident questions as possible, the format of the meeting will be that of an ?open house? instead of a formal, large-group presentation. Attendees will be able to visit four different information stations on various Inlet Village issues, receive updates from staff members manning each table, and answer questions. Caregiver Support Group at New Day Adult Care Center
Educational topics vary every month followed by discussion/questions & answers about Alzheimer's disease and caregiving.
This group provides a supportive and compassionate space for caregivers of dependent adults to talk openly about their struggles, to learn various coping strategies, share resources, and explore ways to alleviate stress. The idea is to take care of yourself so you can effectively care for others.
