Led by an experienced Master Naturalist, our beach walks and hammock hikes are an excursion through some of Florida's most precious habitat. Navigating through the rare coastal hammock and nature dune systems, you will learn about the birds in the trees all the way to the grains of sand on the beach. Each program lasts for about one hour.

The Chamber continues to bring statewide candidates for up close and exclusive meetings with our Executive Trustee Council members.  On Friday morning, February 3, you are invited to join us for a Trustee Breakfast with republican candidate for U.S Senate, Adam Hasner.
 
Hailing from Delray Beach, Adam was first elected in 2002 to serve as a part-time state legislator representing Palm Beach and Broward Counties. Serving alongside Marco Rubio in the Florida House for six years, in 2007, Adam was selected by then-Speaker Rubio to serve as Majority Leader for the Republican caucus, a position he held for four years until being term-limited from office in 2010.
During his time in the legislature, Adam earned a 98% rating from the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
His conservative leadership in the House made him a natural to lead key fights for eliminating property taxes, protecting employees right to secret ballots in the workplace, reducing government spending (including his own salary as an elected official), and for accountability and choice in public schools.
Adam is one of three leading republican candidates now running for the United States Senate, to challenge incumbent Bill Nelson.

He has over 15 years of private sector business experience in the healthcare industry working with hospitals and healthcare systems to acquire and manage physician practices.

Adam and his wife, Jillian, live in Boca Raton, Florida.

Ever wonder what's warbling outside your window? Come to our "Bird Brains" class and find out. Novice birders will learn how to identify commom Florida birds and take notes in their birding journal. At the end, we'll construct recycled bird feeders to take home, which will attract birds to your own backyards. Parents must sign in with child but do not have to attend. Ages 7-12. Attention all runners and anyone looking to melt away any extra Girl Scout Cookie calories!  Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida will be hosting their first ever Thin Mint Sprint 5K Race on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Carlin Park in Jupiter.

 

Sponsored in part by Whole Foods – Palm Beach Gardens, the Thin Mint Sprint is open to racers of all ages.  There’s even a Tagalong Trot 100 yard dash for children ages 8 and under.  Awards will be given in 17 categories and the first 300 registrants will be given race T-shirts.  This is a chip-timed race.

 

Registration and packet pickup starts at 6:00 am and the 5K race starts at 7:30 am.  The registration fee is $35 in advance or $40 the day of the race.  The fee for the Tagalong Trot is $10.
