​CEO Connection: Mike Durkee, Wounded Veterans Relief Fund

Join the Chamber for our next CEO Connection produced by the Young Professionals Council. This connection will be at Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, featuring Executive Director Mike Durkee. 

Veteran Founded in 2009, WVRF provides urgent financial assistance and critical dental care to eligible wounded and disabled veterans throughout the state of Florida. As a 501c3 Florida Nonprofit organization, they partner with the VA to provide vital resources for veterans.

This event is hosted by the Young Professionals Council but is open to everyone!


Full Bio: 
Mike Durkee, Executive Director



A native Floridian, Michael Durkee joined the US Army in 2003 to enter the fight against terrorism. During his 11 years of service, he was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, in 2005, and then to Kandahar, Afghanistan, in 2012-2013.He flew more than 64 combat missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, witnessing numerous soldier injuries and enduring the loss of good friends.

He is devoted to helping his fellow veterans and offers a deep respect and first-hand understanding of their challenges once service has ended. Michael joined the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund Team in 2014 as a liaison, assisting at events and spreading the word about how the organization differs from many other veteran service organizations. After first-hand experience with other veteran support organizations, Michael says what compelled him to join the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund Team was the fact that most of the donor funds go directly toward helping veterans. In 2015, Michael was voted onto the board of directors. Now, in his role of Executive Director, he helps to provide guidance and essential relief to Florida’s disabled veterans on a daily basis.

By attending this event, you hereby give the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, their assigns, licenses, and legal representatives the irrevocable right to use, at no cost, your name (or any fictional name), picture, portrait, photograph, visual, and/or voice recording and likeness, in all forms and media and in all manners, including photo, film, audio, video, and all social media representations, for nonprofit, public or educational purposes, and waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written copy that may be created in connection therewith, and any claim or right to compensation for such use.

Event Cancellation Policy:
A notice of cancellation must be received by e-mail within 48 hours (2 business days) prior to the event. NO verbal cancellations will be accepted. Cancellations under 48 hours prior to the event, will NOT receive event credit in order to solidify attendance numbers with the event venue. All cancellation notices received BEFORE 48 hours (2 business days) prior to the event will be given an event credit of equal value. Event credits will be applied upon request and are good for up to 1 year from the purchase date. There are NO REFUNDS. 
NOTE:
Premier Events (ArtiGras Tickets / Loggerhead Triathlon Registrations) and Special Events (The Leadership Awards Dinner / Holiday Mixer / Business 2 Baseball / Golf Classic) do not qualify for an event credit upon cancellation. Contributions or gifts to the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
