Full bio:

Julie Seaver is the Executive Director for Compass, the LGBTQ Community Center of the Palm Beaches. The center is funded by a growing number of federal, state and local government partnerships, and contributions from generous individuals and inclusive organizations around Palm Beach County. Since 1988, Compass has been the only direct service provider for the LGBTQ community in Palm Beach County.  Known for its annual signature events like Palm Beach Pride and Stonewall Ball, Compass provides HIV testing and education; mental wellness and behavioral therapy; case management for LGBTQ youth and their families, people living with HIV; and community outreach services for nearly 75,000 people a year.

Julie Seaver started with Compass 15 years ago, joining the team for the agency's $3M Capital Campaign to bring the community center to the City of Lake Worth. She has worn many hats at Compass starting out as a volunteer and a client. She has received the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) Ruby Slipper Award, the South Florida Gay News OUT 50 award, is a five-time recipient of Palm Beach County’s SFGN Best LGBTQ Activist of the Year Award and most recently-Equality Florida’s 2020 Voices of Equality Award and Palm Beach County School District’s 2022 “We’re ALL in Champion for Equity in Education Award.”

Julie is proud to serve her community in the nonprofit sector and considers serving others a joy and a privilege.  Her vision of unifying leaders in a collaborative force against those who threaten our equality feeds the strength and power in the collective efforts of us all.  Using her voice to lift others up, she continues to center the voices of our most vulnerable minority populations.
